His
Way is Perfect! Progress
Report for January/February 2009 Dear Praying
Friends, Family, and Churches,
“As for God, his way is
perfect: the word of the LORD is tried: he is a buckler to all
those that trust in him.” Psalm 18:30. God’s way
is perfect. Even in the midst of trials, tribulation,
crisis, etc. we can trust in our Lord and know that His way is
PERFECT!
Ministry
News
We thank the Lord everyday for how He leads
us. Over the past 2 months since our last prayer letter
we have stayed busy. Here are a few things that we have
been doing:
Deanna has been able to start
a children’s choir at the church and has put a lot of effort
into helping the kids learn how to sing and understand what
they are singing.
- On Valentines Day, we had a special couples
meeting. There were a total of 10 couples and 2 of the
Spaniards that were present don’t have a relationship with
Christ. Pray for Jesus, the husband of Nora. He
attended the Special Christmas program and has been to the
couples meeting twice in a row. He is very hardened to the
Gospel, but we can see the Lord softening his heart little
by little.
- We had a Men’s meeting for all the churches in the
Madrid area. We started with a breakfast and I was
named the resident Chef. They tagged me with the
nickname “Jeff the Chef.” We had a good
Ole American Breakfast (Eggs
and Bacon) and then went upstairs t o hear a message from
the Word of God. After the message, we all prayed
together 2x2 for the country of Spain, more laborers and
more souls for His glory.
- I have been able to preach once a month on Wednesday
nights. It is still a challenge preaching in a
different language, however, it gets easier each time I do
it. The last time I preached, I brought a study on
Matthew 5:13, “Ye are the salt of the earth…” It was
encouraging because after the message, one of the ladies
spoke up and said, “I just wanted to make a comment about
the message. I read this passage this morning in my
devotions and I didn’t understand what it meant. Now I
understand what it means when Jesus called us the salt of
the earth.” It’s nice to know that they are
understanding my Spanish! :)
